Alex Loubere From Arizona Game and Fish Department Talks About Gila Trout in Arizona Streams

May 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Alex’s title with AZGFD is sport fish research biologist.

He helps design and run research projects throughout the state. He started in Illinois ( Master’s degree) before moving to Oregon and working for their aquatic invasive species program. He joined AZGFD in July of 2019 and began working on the Gila Trout project immediately.

He is an avid fly tier and fly fisherman, and holds both the wild and general trout challenge certificates in Arizona. Alex enjoys fishing for anything that swims with a fly rod, but has an affinity for warm water fly fishing because that is where I got my start at age 13 in Illinois. He has been fly fishing for 18 years and tying for 6 years.
