About this event
Dead Horse Ranch State Park is less that a two hour drive from Phoenix, which makes this a nice day trip. The town of Cottonwood adjoins the park with plenty of restaurants, motels and tourist shops. The Verde River flows next to the park and the park contains three ponds that are stocked with trout. This outing has it all; float tubing, shore fishing, still water, moving water, RV camping, tent camping, cabin rentals within the park, happy hour, restaurants, and coaching from some great fly fishers. AFC usually fishes the middle lagoon. The fly fishers happy hour starts when fishing ends Saturda evening, in Red Tailed Hawk loop. Look for Tom’s camper. The park charges an entrance fee for day use. Make your reservations EARLY, @ “azstateparks.com/dead-horse”.
