The fly casting class is open to all members, whether you are have never cast a fly rod or would like to improve your casting skills. There will be FFI certified fly casting instructors there to work with you. Please bring a 5 or 6 weight 9 for fly rod with floating line and an 0X or 3X 7 1/2 foot tapered leader. AFC will have fly rods and reels on hand for you to use If you do not have a 5 or 6 weight rod. For safety, bring a hat, sunglasses and water. The instructors will work with beginner fly casters as well as some of us that can use a FFI certified instructor’s guidance to improve our casting.

J D Dam is located South of Williams AZ. It is one of ten proposed Blue Ribbon-designated fisheries in Arizona. It is a small lake that can be fished from shore or a float tube. We can camp at Whitehorse Lake or in the forest, take your pick. Mid-week will avoid the traffic on I-17, maybe.
