The event calendar shows upcoming club events. Select a view then use the navigation buttons to move
between dates. Click on the event to view more information, including the event description, times,
location, fees and any rules regarding attendance; you can also register for events from this screen.
Click on the magnifying glass on the toolbar to see search and filter options.
Topic - Fly Fishing Entomology - Dave Acree grew up in Montana, went to college in Idaho and came to Arizona in 1987 to work for ASARCO. Dave was in industry for 17 years and in education for 13 years. Dave taught high school sciences (biology, earth sciences, chemistry and physics.) Dave has been a fly fisherman for more than 20 years and has enjoyed the fisheries in Montana, Idaho, Michigan, Arizona and Ireland. In January’s meeting, Dave will cover Entomology - the study of insects and the relationships to fly tying.
The fly casting class is open to all members, whether you are new to fly casting or would like to improve your casting skills.
There will be FFI certified fly casting instructors there to work with you.
AFC will provide fly rods and reels for you to use.
Please bring a 5 or 6 weight 9 foot fly rod with floating line and a 7 1/2 foot tapered leader if you have one.
For safety- bring a hat, sunglasses and water.

Arizona American Italian Club
The class will discuss, where, how and why to fish near your home or work. There are 29 community waters in Phoenix plus dozens of waters that contain fish within minutes of you.
